Saturday Course Description:

TMJ and other Neuromuscular Pathologies: Diseases that affect nervous and muscular systems are prevalent among our clients. Massage pathology expert Susan Salvo will discuss diseases that are common to these body systems, their complications, and their treatment measures including medication use.  You will then learn how to formulate client-centered and condition-appropriate treatment plans rather than using a “one-size-fits-all” approach. Come take a closer look at the about challenges your clients with these conditions face, what research tell us, and how to bridge the research-to-practice gap. You will re-enter your practice with a deeper understanding and new skill set for your clients with these pathologies. 

 

May 5th breakfast 8- 9 am, class 9 am – 1 pm. Annual meeting 1 pm – 1:30 pm.
Sunday Course Description:

Special Populations: Oncology, Pregnancy, and Geriatrics: Quality information and how to use is the difference between a good massage therapist and a great massage therapist. This class gives you both. You will learn about challenges each of these populations face and how to apply the knowledge you will gain to best serve them through massage. Included is the most current information about safe practice procedures and risk management. Susan is eager to share stories of research and clinical experience and you will re-enter your practices with new skills and a deeper understand about cancer, pregnancy, and aging. Sunday-only registration is $55 per person for members and $65 for non-members and includes breakfast
